Karl Heine
Since 1988 Karl has been the principal of creativeplacement. He has more than 25 years of experience in the industry and over 20 years in the creative recruitment field. Karl’s expertise lies in national client exposure and concept development. A designer and illustrator by trade he has provided creative services throughout the greater Metro Area. His client-base included a plethora of local agencies and notables such as: Pepsi, Swiss Army Brands, Pacific Reef, 9 West, and Reed & Barton. Related industry experience includes acting as Account Manager with Procorp Inc., Framingham, MA and Printmark, Inc., Stamford, CT, where he worked on accounts, including: Emery Worldwide, Ralston Purina, General Mills, P&G Kellogs, Tropicana, Scholastic Publishing, Girl Scouts of America, Dress Barn, Marketing Corporation of America, Weekly Reader, Combustion Engineering and KidsPort.
AIGA: Metro North Chapter: Founding Board Member. CADC: Lead Chair for the Inspire Me event; Cannes|Clios; CADC Student Conference; 2007–2008 Membership Committee and other key programs. Lecturer: Rhode Island School of Design, Carnegie Mellon University, School of Visual Arts, Central Connecticut State University, University of Bridgeport, University of Hartford, University of Connecticut and Paier College of Art. kHyal™
kHyal has been in the business of communication since 1985. An AIGA award-winning graphic designer and creative director with blue chip clients from Black&Decker to MTV, specializing in interactive projects, she founded fiZz Agency in 2007 and expanded her services to include expert project management, copywriting, marketing, public relations and events.
In her 20-year career, kHyal has held the positions of Creative Director at Microtech International, an innovative manufacturer of Apple Computer peripherals; and Circle.com (now Euro RSCG) where she developed database-driven interactive campaigns for UPS, GAP and BMW. kHyal was co-founder and VP of Marketing for SunStar Publishing, a consumer software publisher; and Blowtorch Studios, an interactive agency. She also served as Interim Director of Marketing and Public Relations at Stamford Hospital.
kHyal majored in Mass Communications at Emerson College in addition to studies at The School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston; The Art Institute of Boston; Boston Film and Video Foundation; Loyola Law School and Kodak’s Center for Creative Imaging.
kHyal has served on the MIT Enterprise Forum of New York City’s Marketing Committee and co-chaired the Fundraising Committee of Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts, Los Angeles. She served as Communications Chair for the AIGA Metro-North Chapter from 2009–2010. kHyal has been a juror for the London Interactive Advertising Awards and Westchester Ad Club’s Big W Awards. Her fine art and design have been exhibited in the American Visionary Art Museum, Housatonic Art Museum, New Britain Museum of American Art, the Outsider Art Fair, Intuit, the Cooper Union; and galleries from New York to London.
kHyal is the creator of BlipWorld™ and The Weather sKwirl™. kHyal also designs one-of-kind upcycled apparel under the name kHyal Kouture and is a member of the Women’s Internet History Project.
